Assassins
(We'll Meet Again) eddy styx
I caught your eye
you spied me
from across the room
both with the devil
sparkling in our eyes.
it was havoc
at first sight
fiendish friends
we did hunt
carefully chosen
prey together
all out mayhem
was the playing field.
I was good to you
kept my lethal
poisonous potions
in their bottles.
no chalices smoking
over the brim
proffered to
your lying lips.
we were simpatico
fit like hand
in bloody glove.
knew each others
moods like a butcher
knows his wares of trade.
I never saw this
betrayal coming.
your knife in my back...
bleeding in the brush
She found me, taking me in.
nursing me back,
rewarding her with
my adulation
we pledged a vow.
for love of the kill
you have struck
at the heart of me
but you shall
die screaming
in scorpions nests
in the underground.

Hello Cat!
The most common forms of betrayal are harmful disclosures of confidential information, disloyalty, infidelity, dishonesty. They can be traumatic and cause considerable distress. The effects of betrayal include shock, loss and grief, morbid pre-occupation, damaged self- esteemed, self-doubting, anger.
Please check this:
(nursing me back), or you intended to say 'nursing my back'
A very strong piece! Beautiful well-chosen words!
"By virtue of creativity, my literary genre is poetry".

Betrayl
Of the worst kind always comes from those we are closest to. Eddy seems to have found someone else to replace his treacherous ex quickly. I am looking forward to seeing if they pay her back for her indiscretions.

dear RoseBlack,
don't you just know it! it is those who are close who do the most damage. that's the reason why we put up walls...

Can’t help myself
“Lost one round
But the price wasn’t anything
A knife in the back
And more of the same”
Super cool idea. Murderous, and then treacherous, but super cool.
Hope you get your revenge,

I am well
I hope you are as well. Thanks for asking, it means quite a lot. I’m pretty even now but there have been times when just being asked was all I really needed; and I’ve gotten those miracles from strangers and new or distant acquaintances more often then I do from some of my perceived “friends”. I’ve moved on from a lot of people that weren’t right for my energy lately. In turn, I’ve found some awesome new ones and been able to put more time into art and music and refocus on the relationships that were nurturing to that. My wife first. Sorry, a bit of an over share but you get the point I think. I’m very, very grateful for every opportunity at connection with people who show you inside themselves.
Is it better to wear heavy armor
or none at all???

dearest Tim,
excellent questions:
Is it better to wear heavy armor
or none at all???
I guess it takes knowing what kind of situation you are walking into. you give us a very good question my honest, opinion. I'd ware the heavy armor with my family, if they were in my life. and
(none at all with my Neopoet family)
(what about you?) :) :):)

Armor
I wore it too long. Only a light weight leather jerkin. When I write, play music, or paint. I’m open all the way. I’m writing while I frame houses, driving my truck, in the shower; all the time really. I think in poetry and art. Everyday existence is something that’s is in the way of my artistic output but I can’t seem to become independently wealthy. So I’m stuck “living the dream” but I do get to produce some decent art.
“Belief is a beautiful armor
but makes for the heaviest sword
Like punching underwater
You never can hit who you’re trying for
Some need the exhibition
Some have to know they tried
It’s the chemical weapon for
the war that’s raging on inside.”
John Mayer’s take on religion.
I can’t take credit for this
