Cautergauze
tension
blur
rust stain
drawn wings on sticky darkness
enamel sheen
bright as razor light
on Ghetto bars
Rises churlish lips
to kiss
angels death
seeping down the halls
of the radiated room
the blue night
full of ghost hours
television tomb
a sigh in the vein
like a drowned cough
at midnight
and the cup caught
tumbling
tumbling
before the hour
dies
the long last sigh

Darkly beautiful
This poem is evocative of hopelessness and a Blade Runner type imagery to me. I've been here. I get an undertow of addiction as control. Very dark. Exceptional piece of writing.

awesome esker
as usual
so dark
descriptive excellent - i close my eyes and i see the scene
(at least the scene i visualise)
that late night/ early morning life of the addict....
- i just love the mention of the tv in the darkness...
- so i may be totally incorrect with the interpretation, but that is what i read
tell me if you meant else, would be interested in the reason for the title
love and hugs

One of My Fave titles
"caterwaul" so apt a descriptor
Cauterize burning for healing
the use of fire as an element
Cautergauze Gauze as the bandage
and or ointment
of how people view things sometime
soft focus
think of clots too Like ideas clotting
darkness yes
waking up to nightime and not knowing
the hour just the television coming up
from a dream or the dream coming
up from the television
storybox lullabye
not always so cheery or grand
but a voice a thing of animation
to not be so alone
not die alone of overdose or alcohol
coma Maybe a happy show on
when that happens
