lilac moons from a master
As Infinitesimal leaves
plucked by a great seer
it started,
half-light birthed
and a lilac moon erupted,
from a crown of pine
all this,
concealing
a master at work
I observed,
invisible hands
slowly smear the canvas,
Water Lilies now splash
in my pastel sky,
astonished
existing for eons,
since waters lapped
at Uluru,
since hanging rock
was submerged
never knowing a glory
of impression,
wedges of oceans had
separated
now,
lifetimes later,
Monet
paints the sky
in my awe
as bat wings spread
moving life,
through nights grandeur

A reflection of Monet to remind you of the same sky that watched over the two great Islands that joined to make your Country and putting Uluru in the middle, a great write as usual.
Take care out there, Yours Ian.T

Beautifully written, great imagery
but Monet? Give me a break!
Monet's use of light doesn't fit Australian light except perhaps ... well I can't think where, none of Australian light or landscape bears any resemblance to Monet's vision.

Jess

I wrote this after witnessing a spectacular sunset ... It is what it is don't read it if it offends, I wrote it how I saw it ..its called poetic licence
Cheers JC

Like Stephen Fry said, offense is taken, not given.
I wasn't offended, just critiquing.
You saw a Monet sunset in Australia? then I'm just jealous [grins]

Smile I saw what I saw the colours were magnificent ... Anyhow its just a silly poem not finished maybe Monet can be substituted for a Aussie artist ... It's a good point I can see what you meen ... I'm open to suggestions
