Where is the hover board, as promised.
In Back to the Future?
Hmm..
This is a fun bit of incoherence as the future whizzes past us.
Reminds me of the march for Ganja joke that did the rounds in the UK:
"What do we want?"
"We can't remember.."
"When do we wannnn ittt!??"
"Ohhh...just drop it round some time man..."
(not to disparage those who partake - but my days of buckets are over ;) )
Funny first read for the night.
Thanks Jess.

Thanks folks
It's the first time I've used the Doppler Effect as a poetic device.
Came to me intact watching the Star Trek TNG episode "Yesterday’s Enterprise".
"incoherence", Chris? Did you not get what the enmeshed line said, and why it was enmeshed?

The 'garbled' line
is where past and future overlap, the rising sound of the approaching train becomes cacophonous noise and blur as it is passing and then the sound changes to a dying fall.
Literally it is the lines-
We want FTL. When
Do We want it? Now.
Overlapped, letter for letter.

This could be...
the newest style of poetry! If you travel in the opposite direction, does the effect reverse itself?
Although I was an avid Star Trek fan, I never did get all the quantum-physic stuff straight. ~ Gee.

Not reversed
Anything approaching rises in pitch and lowers in pitch departing, regardless of direction.
Similarly things approaching look bluer and things departing look redder.

and whilst retaining its original depth the effects, design even acting style and script-writing are sadly dated.

I made a mistake with this.
My assumption was that most people would associate FTL with Relativity and time distortions automatically and the repeated lines would draw attention to the structure and make a connection to the Doppler Effect. Any way I can fix it?

could work
though it would means the lines, with slight variations, got repeated an awful lot.
Remember the Doppler effect doesn't change perception it actually bunches up the sound or light waves in front and stretches them out behind. The original sound or light is unchanged.

Jess

I exist in the now, now look what you have done,
you approached and compressed my vision,
then in an instant you stood still,
I observed the strange awareness in your being, WTF
are we both doing on this page.
Then you sped away like shit off a shovel growing longer.
Was this another now ?
and where were you?
In which now did you exist.
The children told me that as there was no "Time", that's why they can be in more than one place at the same instant.
I have now lost sight of you, as there is just a smudge on the horizon, as if the Parallel lines met and became confused or just fused..
Take care young traveller, just whisper my name should you become lost, I shall hear you, and stand at your side,
Loves you Bru, Yours, Ian and the Children..

Can't seem to see Jess anywhere, even the smudge has faded into a neutrality.
He will return and compress my thoughts again of that I am sure, lol.
This subject is so open, and there is scope for thousands of words.
We should rund a series on some themes just to read others values and experiences in maybe dimensions we can play with..
Take care and know I read as many words as possible.

Oh! there you are back in my now, thank whoever sent you back.
It is good to play sometimes and this gave me the best opportunity for a while.
I had to make a meaningless write into a topic, there are no answers to these philosophical thoughts.
Just a lot of words seldom with a positive direction, so we have talked and returned to a nothingness that pervades our now.
So I shall just enjoy all things as usual..
Loves You Bru..
Yours as always, Ian
