Success, I Guess...

Success, I guess
is more, not less
Accomplishments I sing
you pass the test
It's a human kind of thing

A plan that works ensures
The man that works endures
No one else here can compete
But, no one else here, knows for sure
I've been so very discrete

Yes, I know success
Miss Liberty is underdressed
She is blinded by the light
I've looked, I must confess
It's a really terrible sight

The Great Blue Eye...

The great blue eye changes color
shifting through each story
Scenes of memes and commercials
T.V. in all its glory

Make your day go fast
with help for your digestion
Watch the former President
be arrested for insurrection

T.V. hosts on game shows
giving cars and money
Contests of smarts and charisma
served by half-dressed honeys

Daytime soaps and dramas
Dr.s , crooks and heroes
Contests with sliding scales
sliding down to zeros

H.A.P.P.Y.

How your voice became everything I needed to hear
An accidental meeting formed an unlikely pair
Pleasure was but a fantasy until I became lost in your arms
Placing your soul safely within my heart
You changed me, without knowing, from the start

Meeting A Caveman

One dark and frightful night
Plundering through the woods
Just as fast as I could
Looking for a glimpse of daylight

When suddenly I felt a tug
Followed by a strange sound
My feet came off the ground
As my captor let out a gutteral UGH

Dragging me through the brush
Callous hand around my hair
He moved without a care
Only my screams forced him to rush

Dropping me next to the fire
A glimpse of a man within the flame
The lack of conversation was such a shame
Under his gentle gaze, I began to tire

Hunters Moon

I walk through the darkened lane tonight,
A cold wind blows from the sea,
Across the river and over the lea.
And the Hunter’s Moon I see.

I hear a dog fox bark to the night,
Hear a vixen afar reply,
Hear the scream of a creature as life is snuffed,
And the Hunter’s Moon climbs high.

Higher she climbs, ever higher
With light like a soft summers eve;
Dimming the stars as she rises
Making my heart to grieve.
