God who didn't want to die

We are the children of sunny god Ra,
Anubis rules where it is darkness so far,
Yarilo is back and fights for the power,
And Aphrodite gives all the strength for a lover
And red-haired Loki tricks and defrauds,
And to the moon Wolf God howls...
Moira spins Thread of Destiny,
Time as sand passes bit by bit
Sumerians Tower is under construction...
Seems like Pompeians are waiting for erruption,
Charon drives the boat across river Styx
And Zeus with Perun have vodka and chips,
Gets a light Feb from the Sun
Smoking, cithara strings his fingers run,
Spartans are with Persians fighting,
And angels with demons for coffee uniting...
All gods, they didn't want to be forgotten,
Now they are lost, or are killed and just rotten.
Hera is cold, having muffled in a shawl,
They had no wish to die... no wish to fall.

enjoyed this a lot, seeing as how I have read about most all of these gods and goddesses.
I did wonder a bit about the lapse of rhyming in the lines from six through eight, but quickley dismissed it
as it resumed quickly and didn't leave a question mark. I was amused at the first near rhyme which occurred
withn the first two lines, and made me think of a New Hampshire accent. LoL
Zeuz and Perun watching the Olympic games with vodka and chips also gave me a laugh.
I waas a little disappointed that you chose to close out the piece without any reference as to why or how
the thought of these gods came to you. Maybe if you included a little something about how modern day people
have taken a shine to such names and the inference of power? After all, they do sound rather romantic and eternal. ~ Geez.

I enjoyed this immensely. When she was a student my daughter loved everything about the old Egyptians, cost me a fortune in books. Had there been suitable university courses she would have studied and gone into archaeology. It was not to be, but she earns more in a month now than I earned in a year. I very enjoyable read with names I mostly recognised. Alex

Thank you so much for your kind words!
